Alasdair Gold has revealed that Wilson Odobert has impressed Ange Postecoglou and his coaching staff in his first week and a half at Tottenham, with there being plenty of excitement at Hotspur Way about the youngster.
Wilson Odobert is making waves at Hotspur Way
The 19-year-old arrived at Spurs on the back of one season of Premier League football under his belt, with the youngster being one of the few bright sparks for Burnley in what was a campaign to forget for the Clarets last term.
The Frenchman’s signing was met with a mixed reception by the Spurs fan base, with some supporters understandably doubting if the newcomer is good enough to start regularly for a club with Champions League aspirations.
However, Odobert showcased in his debut against the Toffees just why Postecoglou and the decision makers at Tottenham decided to bring him through the door, running at the Everton defence at every opportunity and getting the fans off their seats.

Speaking about the newcomer’s impact at Spurs, Gold has now said on his YouTube channel: “Odobert has been a big success behind the scenes so far, in terms of impressing Postecoglou and the coaching staff.

“He’s just got this terrific ability, technique, pace, he dribbles without fear and goes, and goes, and goes.”
The youngster will be hoping to retain his place in the starting XI against Newcastle on Sunday, especially if Dominic Solanke is still out injured.
Spurs Web Opinion
Fans have to get this idea out of their heads that only big-money, big-name signings can prove successful.
In fact, most of the expensive additions that Tottenham have made over recent years have struggled while relatively bargain signings such as Pape Sarr, Udogie, Vicario, Bentancur and others have proven to be hits.
Odobert might potentially go on to become a much better player than someone like Desire Doue, who cost around twice as much as the former Burnley man.
