Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou has given the latest injury news for the club ahead of their Premier League clash against Wolves this weekend.
The Spurs head-coach has given an update on Radu Dragusin after the defender was substituted in the closing stages of the 1-0 loss against Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day. And there was also news of another blow, with Spurs suffering a crisis at centre-back.
On Dragusin, Postecoglou told reporters: "A bit early to tell. He tweaked his ankle last night and felt like he couldn't continue. So we'll just have to wait and see. Kind of wait until he gets in today and then assess it from there."
Meanwhile, Ben Davies is also set for more time on the sidelines after suffering a setback on his return from injury. Spurs would likely have hoped for a swift return for the centre-back with Dragusin added to the injury list, but Postecoglou revealed the Welsh star would not be back for some time.
"No, he's ruled out. Unfortunately he had a setback in training and he's probably out for another couple of weeks. So yeah, he's gone."
The injuries at the back are creating an issue for Postecoglou, and there was more woe against Forest after Dragusin's late substitution with Djed Spence sent off after earning a second yellow card in stoppage time.
Spurs will be struggling for players at the back against Wolves, with the manager previously stating that first-choice duo Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven would be back in the new year.
The absence of recognised centre-backs could be a huge problem, with Archie Gray already deputising at the back in recent games. With Dragusin and Spence the latest to drop out of contention, the manager certainly faces a dilemma over who could start alongside the 18-year-old up against a revitalised Wolves side who have won their last two games on the bounce.
