Ange Postecoglou provided the latest team news for Tottenham ahead of the clash with Aston Villa. There were some questions about several players ahead and after the win over Manchester City.
Micky van de Ven left the field against Man City with what appeared to be a hamstring problem. Postecoglou was unable to give too many details in his post-match interview, but has given a further update ahead of the clash against Aston Villa this weekend.
"Main one, is Micky, he has sort of strained his hamstring," Postecoglou said. "It's not too serious, but probably after the international break for him."
Adding: "He was disappointed obviously. He was really looking forward to the game so he was a bit emotional. It is definitely not, knock-on-wood, a bad one like last time which kept him out for quite a while.
"He will work hard and the good thing is there is an international break in there which is an extra two weeks for us. So hopefully it means he doesn’t miss too much football.
Meanwhile, Son Heung-min missed the win over City, but Postecoglou was hopeful that he would be ready for the visit of Villa. An update was indeed provided on Friday lunchtime.
"The other ones who were a bit sore were Romero and Werner but at the moment there is still a chance for the weekend," he said when asked about further news. "Sonny has trained today so if he gets through training tomorrow, he should be okay."
