Ange Postecoglou has managed to convince Leeds United sensation Archie Gray about a move to Tottenham.

Tottenham have secured an agreement to sign the 18-year-old midfielder after his move to Brentford collapsed. Gray was reportedly closing in on a move to Brentford and he was eager to play under Thomas Frank. But, the two clubs were not on the same page about the payment plan.

That allowed Tottenham to hijack the deal and according to a report from HITC, Ange Postecoglou has played a big part in convincing the teenager about the move to the North London club.

Gray had an exceptional debut season with Leeds United’s first team last season. He was involved in over 50 matches in his very first season and even contributed towards two goals. While he prefers playing in the centre of the park, the majority of his appearances came as a right-back. His huge potential along with his versatility are major reasons why multiple clubs were keen on prising him away from Leeds.

The North London club will fork out £40 million to bring Gray to the club. The 18-year-old has finalised his agreement with the North London club and he has already completed his medical.

Gray decided to make the move to Tottenham after having a chat with manager Ange Postecoglou about his plans for the club and the player’s role at the club. The former Celtic boss managed to convince him that a move to Spurs is the right decision for him.

The player’s family was impressed after talks with the Australian as well and they gave their backing to the 18-year-old midfielder regarding a move to Tottenham.
