Tottenham have already banked almost £12million from their Europa League run, but will be hoping to add even more to the coffers with a run to the final.

There is still around £14.5million up for grabs if Spurs go all the way and lift the trophy, but Eintracht Frankfurt and then semi-final and final opponents are standing in their way.

If they do go all the way, not only will Ange Postecoglou be fulfilling his promise of winning silverware in his second season, it will also see Tottenham qualify for the Champions League next season. And with that comes even more money.

Postecoglou is under increasing pressure at Spurs, with Europa League glory the only thing left for the Lilywhites to play for this season, with the club languishing in 14th place in the Premier League table.

The Australian did not shy away from his record at previous clubs when speaking about his ambitions for the season. Back in September he said: "I don't usually win things, I always win things in my second season. Nothing's changed. I've said it now. I don't say things unless I believe them."

That promise is now hanging by a Europa League thread. While all the supporters want is to win a trophy, of any kind, given 2008 was the last time a Tottenham captain lifted a piece of silverware aloft, there is the added incentive of Champions League qualification for the Europa League winners and a seat at Europe's top table.

With that, comes increased prize money, which will help Daniel Levy and the club's hierarchy with transfer targets in the summer.

When looking at how much Spurs have made in prize money in the Europa League this year, it is interesting to note just how much they would have made had they been in the Champions League.

Spurs have already banked £11.96million in the Europa League so far this season, but the same record in the Champions League would have seen them secure £39million!

There's still another £49million for the Champions League winners this season to earn, compared to the £14.5million Spurs would earn by lifting the Europa League. Postecoglou's promise is worth more than just jubilation to the supporters.
