In-demand Wolves star Matheus Cunha has told potential suitors like Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur that he has never given a second thought towards leaving Molineux.
As the recent January transfer window played out in full, both north London clubs appeared to be in competition with one another for the recruitment of additional firepower.
Mikel Arteta would end the period without actually signing anyone, while Ange Postecoglou got the loan signing of Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich across the line.
But while that happened, both Arsenal and Spurs couldn't escape links with in-form Wolves forward Cunha.
After an underwhelming start to the 2024/2025 campaign, as a team, the Midlands club switched managers from Gary O'Neil to Vitor Pereira - and that has given Cunha an extra boost on and off the pitch.
Under both, the Brazilian has scored 12 goals while grabbing four assists - contributions that have had a direct say in his side climbing their way out of the bottom three - while also whipping up a transfer furore.
However, even though he was tipped to move on in January, the 25-year-old has now reaffirmed his commitment to Wolves by penning an improved four-and-a-half-year contract at Molineux.
Speaking with BBC Sport's Football Focus - in a new interview - Cunha said: "I never think about leaving, honestly. I know I have a lot of things to do already and I always said that this was the club that gave me the chance to come back.
"They opened the door for me and I always felt that I wanted to give back everything so to leave in this type of situation is hard. I am so happy to be here. I hope to continue doing good things."
Spurs were reported as joining the race later in the recent window, whereas Arsenal's name had been discussed from the start.
While whispers since Cunha's contract renewal has given life to rumours of a £62m release clause readily activated by Premier League rivals, the player himself is only paying attention to his task at hand.
"Of course, they need to be excited. I keep saying; 'Keep belief to the end'," he added about Wolves' push to secure English top-flight safety.
"We need to feel focused and confident to change the situation and I will do everything. I will hope I help everyone to be better and we solve the situation as fast as we can."
