It has now been reported that a young Brazilian forward wanted by Tottenham Hotspur is expected to be on the move this summer, but the Lilywhites will face a lot of competition for the player, with one of their fierce rivals now entering the race.
Tottenham Hotspur look set to continue with their approach of recruiting some of the most highly rated teenagers and helping them develop into finished products.
A couple of days ago, it emerged that Spurs have set their sights on Vasco Da Gama forward Rayan, who has been winning a lot of admirers with his displays in the Brazilian top-flight over the last couple of years.
The same update explained that the likes of Liverpool, Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers were also keeping an eye on the teenager, and now, it turns out another Premier League giant has joined the race.
Arsenal are ready to battle Tottenham for Rayan’s signature
A new report in TEAMtalk has now confirmed that the Brazilian wonderkid is on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar, but the outlet says that they have now been joined in the race by their North London rivals, Arsenal.
The report claims that other clubs from the continent are also tracking Rayan, but the Gunners are now ‘seriously considering’ a move for the 18-year-old when the transfer market reopens in June.
Arsenal’s top scout, Pablo Xavier, is said to be a big fan of the Vasco Da Gama man and it is due to his recommendation that the striker has been placed very high on the club’s summer shopping shortlist.

Rayan is expected to be sold for a cut-price fee
Interestingly, TEAMtalk say that some of the biggest clubs in Europe could also show interest in the Brazilian starlet over the coming months.
It is explained that Fiorentina worked very hard on a deal for the forward previously, but the Serie A club have now been snubbed by Rayan, who is expecting bigger clubs to come calling this summer.
The publication asserts that there is now a ‘serious possibility’ that Premier League sides will move quickly for him this summer.
Rayan is said to have a release clause of less than £15m in his Vasco Da Gama contract, with many clubs keen to sign him before that clause elapses.
