Arteta 'risks upsetting senior players' with Williams move

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta risks upsetting senior players with statement move for Nico Williams, according to the Sunday Express.

The outlet reports that Williams' wage demands would see him rank as the second-highest earner at the club, which could potentially cause unrest behind the scenes.

The report adds that Williams' release clause is £43m, with the Athletic Bilbao forward having started in both of Spain's Euro 2024 games so far.

Arsenal make £17m Kadioglu offer

Arsenal have launched a £17m bid for Fenerbahce full-back Ferdi Kadioglu, according to reports in the Sun.

The Turkey international, 24, started his country's 3-1 win over Georgia in the Euros on Tuesday.

Why Spain's Nico Williams could be bargain of the summer

Spain forward Nico Williams was the star of the show in last night's win over Italy at Euro 2024 - and according to reports, he could be available for a bargain price this summer.

Athletic Bilbao's Williams won the player of the match award after forcing Riccardo Calafiori's own goal to claim a 1-0 win.

The Athletic report that Arsenal and Chelsea hold an interest in the 21-year-old, and that his release clause stands at €55m (£46.45m).

Lamine Yamal has spoken up the possibility of a transfer to Barcelona, but their financial difficulties make a deal difficult at this stage.

Wienroither signs new Arsenal deal

Laura Wienroither has signed a new deal with Arsenal Women.

The defender spent much of the 2023/24 campaign sidelined with an ACL injury, returning to the team in April.

The 25-year-old has made 47 appearances since joining the club in January 2022.

“It’s such an incredible feeling for me to put pen to paper once again for the Arsenal," Wienroither told the club's official website.

“I’m so happy to remain at this club and to have the opportunity to continue playing for a football team that I consider home. Being back on the pitch with my teammates is a feeling I can’t describe, and I can’t wait for the next season to get started.”

Head coach Jonas Eidevall added: “I’m delighted that Laura has signed a new deal with us. She brings us real quality in the full-back position, while her work rate and team spirit are just as important.

"She’s worked so hard on her return to competition and I’m sure she will continue to make a big contribution to the squad moving forward.”

Arsenal target Sesko staying at RB Leipzig

Benjamin Sesko is expected to sign a new contract with RB Leipzig this week, Sky Sports News understands.

The Slovenian striker has been linked with a number if Premier League clubs, including Arsenal and Tottenham.

However, he will sign an improved deal with the German club ahead of the Euros.

Sesko and Slovenia will face England, Denmark and Serbia at Euro 2024.

Why is Zirkzee in demand?

Joshua Zirkzee graduated through Bayern Munich's system and had spells with Parma and Anderlecht before joining Bologna in the summer of 2022.

The forward received limited game time in his first campaign in Serie A, scoring only two league goals from 808 minutes.

This term, the 23-year-old scored 11 league goals and the shot map below suggests he is most lethal from the left-of-centre region.

The heat map below also shows how the forward typically plays deeper than a conventional striker.

He also ranks among the top five players in Serie A for creating big chances, attempting dribbles and regaining possession in the final third.

Indeed, the radar graphic below reveals he ranks among the top five per cent across Europe in those three metrics.

Arsenal, Man Utd monitoring Zirkzee's AC Milan developments

Sky Sports News' Lyall Thomas and Dharmesh Sheth:

Arsenal and Manchester United remain interested in Bologna's Joshua Zirkzee amid strong interest from AC Milan.

Both clubs are understood to be closely monitoring developments with the striker.

Zirkzee is one of a number of strikers Arsenal and United are looking at this summer.

Sky in Italy are reporting that Milan are still pushing to sign him after flying to London late last week for talks.

Nothing was agreed but they remain in contact with his representatives this weekend.

Zirkzee, 23, has a £34m (€40m) release clause in his contract, which has two years left to run.

Arsenal want to bring in a young striker they can develop, having turned their attention away from players such as Alexander Isak and Ivan Toney.

Juventus are also keen on Zirkzee but are currently working on other targets, and they would need to sell a striker to bring one in.

Arsenal interested in £65m-rated Bournemouth striker Solanke

Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke is available for £65m this summer and Arsenal are one of the clubs interested, according to the Sunday Express.

The former Liverpool forward scored 19 goals and registered three assists for Bournemouth last season, and his performances have seen him tipped to move to a 'Bix Six' Premier League club - with Arsenal and rivals Tottenham among those linked.

Solanke led the line impressively for Andoni Iraola's side throughout the campaign but missed out on making England's squad for Euro 2024 this summer, with Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins and Brentford's Ivan Toney preferred instead.
