Chelsea are set to sign Aston Villa youngster Omari Kellyman, as Ian Maatsen completes his move to Villa.

The two clubs have been discussing a player moving to Stamford Bridge amidst talks for the left-back, with Chelsea interested in striker Jhon Duran.

But there has been no agreement for the Colombian yet, so Kellyman - an 18-year-old attacking midfielder and England U20 international - is instead closing in on the switch for a reported £19m.

Maatsen close to agreeing terms with Chelsea

Chelsea's Ian Maatsen has a broad agreement on personal terms with Aston Villa.

The final details on a six-year contract are being sorted now.

It's understood he will have his medical in Germany this weekend. Maatsen is part of the Netherlands Euro 2024 squad.

The fee for the 22-year-old is understood to be to be between £35m and £40m and it will rise with add-ons.

Iroegbunam joins Everton from Villa

Everton have signed midfielder Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal.

The 20-year-old becomes the Toffees' first summer signing and will meet his new team-mates when Sean Dyche's side report back to Finch Farm for the start of pre-season next month.

Iroegbunam has represented England at youth level and was part of the side that won the European U19 Championship in 2022.

After sealing his move to Everton, he told evertontv: "I'm very pleased. Everton is an amazing club, a big club and I'm just really happy to join and I can't wait to get started.

"It was a move that I didn't want to pass by. I wanted to take the opportunity.

"When I spoke to Kevin [Thelwell], he told me more about the club – its history, the future and where they see me playing.

"It made me feel very excited because there are big things coming, especially with the new stadium.

"When I've been to Goodison as an opposition player, I've seen how the Everton fans are. You can tell straight away what the atmosphere is like – they are always backing the team. I'm going to work hard for them.

"I just can't wait to get started. I'm going to give everything and I can't wait to show what I can bring to this club."

Chelsea in talks to sign Villa prospect Kellyman

Chelsea are in talks with Aston Villa about signing teenage prospect Omari Kellyman as Ian Maatsen closes in on his move to the Midlands, according to the Telegraph.

The report claims Kellyman, an 18-year-old attacking player, is seen as a big prospect inside Villa Park and Chelsea have enquired about taking him to Stamford Bridge as part of the talks surrounding Maatsen, Jhon Duran and Conor Gallagher.

Chelsea have not yet dropped their interest in Duran, but are taking time to make background checks and discuss personal terms with the Colombian, while also checking on other striker targets.

In the meantime, Chelsea have opened negotiations over Kellyman, who Villa value at £20m due to his talent and potential.

Everton close to signing Villa man

Everton are close to signing Aston Villa midfielder Tim Iroegbunam.

Talks are in the final stages and a deal is expected to be completed soon.

It is understood Villa have also made a bid for Everton striker Lewis Dobbin.

Villa working on restructuring Luiz move to Juventus

Aston Villa are in the process of re-organising an agreement that will allow for the sale of Douglas Luiz to Juventus.

Talks are ongoing over the signing of Juve's Argentinian midfielder Enzo Barrenechea after Villa were unable to find an agreement with Weston McKennie.

Samuel Iling-Junior has already agreed to join Villa as part of the deal, which is also expected to include around £21m (€25m) in cash to reach the £55m (€65m) valuation of Luiz, while Barrenechea is also thought to be open to the move.

Villa are understood to have inquired about the availability of Juve attacker Matias Soule amongst all this, but were told he is not for sale.

The agreement on the valuation of Luiz has been reached and with personal terms not expected to be an issue, Villa and Juve are working to finalise the other aspects of the deal.

It is expected to be a busy week for Villa, who need to do business to meet their PSR obligations before June 30. They are also finalising the signing of Ian Maatsen from Chelsea and a swap with Everton involving midfielder Tim Iroegbunam and striker Lewis Dobbin.

Chelsea are also interested in Villa striker Jhon Duran.

Aston Villa's talks over a move for Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie have stalled, which may open the door for other Premier League clubs to move, according to The Telegraph.

McKennie has been made available for a transfer by Juventus, who want to sign Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz.‌

Tottenham and Arsenal have been long-term admirers of McKennie, 25, from his time with Schalke and in Italy.

Other clubs could also come into the frame for the USA international, who had a loan spell at Leeds in the 2022/23 season.

Philippe Coutinho and Aston Villa have mutually agreed to terminate the midfielder's contract, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Coutinho was set to return Villa Park this summer after a loan spell in Qatar with Al Duhail but is not part of Unai Emery's plans.

The Brazil international - who turns 32 today - has two years remaining on his deal but is now set to leave for free.

Milan 'make contact with Villa over Cash'

AC Milan have reportedly made contact with Aston Villa over the potential signing of full-back Matty Cash.

There has been long-standing interest from Milan in the Poland international, who has failed to prove his fitness to join his country at Euro 2024.

According to The Athletic, Villa are seeking £30m for the right-back, which could prove an obstacle for Milan who do not tend to spend so much on one player under their current ownership.

The report adds that Villa would rather keep Cash but are aware of their profit and sustainability rules (PSR) requirements and must make a notable player sale before the deadline of June 30 for the 2023/24 reporting period to remain compliant.
