Everton have signed midfielder Tim Iroegbunam from Aston Villa for an undisclosed fee on a three-year deal.

The 20-year-old becomes the Toffees' first summer signing and will meet his new team-mates when Sean Dyche's side report back to Finch Farm for the start of pre-season next month.

Iroegbunam has represented England at youth level and was part of the side that won the European U19 Championship in 2022.

After sealing his move to Everton, he told evertontv: "I'm very pleased. Everton is an amazing club, a big club and I'm just really happy to join and I can't wait to get started.

"It was a move that I didn't want to pass by. I wanted to take the opportunity.

"When I spoke to Kevin [Thelwell], he told me more about the club – its history, the future and where they see me playing.

"It made me feel very excited because there are big things coming, especially with the new stadium.

"When I've been to Goodison as an opposition player, I've seen how the Everton fans are. You can tell straight away what the atmosphere is like – they are always backing the team. I'm going to work hard for them.

"I just can't wait to get started. I'm going to give everything and I can't wait to show what I can bring to this club."

Chelsea are in talks with Aston Villa about signing teenage prospect Omari Kellyman as Ian Maatsen closes in on his move to the Midlands, according to the Telegraph.

The report claims Kellyman, an 18-year-old attacking player, is seen as a big prospect inside Villa Park and Chelsea have enquired about taking him to Stamford Bridge as part of the talks surrounding Maatsen, Jhon Duran and Conor Gallagher.

Chelsea have not yet dropped their interest in Duran, but are taking time to make background checks and discuss personal terms with the Colombian, while also checking on other striker targets.

In the meantime, Chelsea have opened negotiations over Kellyman, who Villa value at £20m due to his talent and potential.

Aston Villa are in the process of re-organising an agreement that will allow for the sale of Douglas Luiz to Juventus.

Talks are ongoing over the signing of Juve's Argentinian midfielder Enzo Barrenechea after Villa were unable to find an agreement with Weston McKennie.

Samuel Iling-Junior has already agreed to join Villa as part of the deal, which is also expected to include around £21m (€25m) in cash to reach the £55m (€65m) valuation of Luiz, while Barrenechea is also thought to be open to the move.

Villa are understood to have inquired about the availability of Juve attacker Matias Soule amongst all this, but were told he is not for sale.

The agreement on the valuation of Luiz has been reached and with personal terms not expected to be an issue, Villa and Juve are working to finalise the other aspects of the deal.

It is expected to be a busy week for Villa, who need to do business to meet their PSR obligations before June 30. They are also finalising the signing of Ian Maatsen from Chelsea and a swap with Everton involving midfielder Tim Iroegbunam and striker Lewis Dobbin.

Chelsea are also interested in Villa striker Jhon Duran.

Latest from Sky Sports News' Kaveh Solhekol and Dharmesh Sheth:

Aston Villa have agreed a deal with Chelsea for Ian Maatsen.

The fee is understood to be between £35m and £40m. It will rise with add-ons.

Maatsen will sign a six-year deal at Villa Park with personal terms not expected to be an issue.

The left-back had a £35m release clause.

Borussia Dortmund wanted to sign him on a permanent deal after his successful loan spell last season.

But - as it stands - they are unable to meet the release clause in his contract.

Aston Villa have enquired about Chelsea left-back Ian Maatsen, according to The Telegraph.

Maatsen, who spent the season on loan at Borussia Dortmund, has a £35m release clause in his deal.

However, Dortmund are unwilling to meet that price, which has opened the door to Villa.

Villa reportedly have to sell Jhon Duran to Chelsea to facilitate a move for one of their players, however, with Conor Gallagher another that is said to be interesting to them.

The Telegraph claim Chelsea have been given permission to discuss personal terms with Duran.
