Defender Axel Disasi has completed a deadline day loan move to Aston Villa from parent club Chelsea. The deal includes the player's salary being covered, as well as a €5 million loan fee that the Midlands club will pay the Blues, but no buy-option is thought to be included. The late move comes after the Frenchman rejected a loan move to Tottenham as he only wanted to sign for the Champions League club. Disasi has played just 18% of the available Premier League minutes for the Blues this season, and has failed to nail down a spot under new manager Enzo Maresca.
Disasi joined Chelsea from Monaco in 2023 for €45 million, but has a current market value of just €30m, having failed to set the world alight in the English top-flight. The 26 year old becomes Villa's fifth signing of the winter window, having already brought in Donyell Malen, Marco Asensio, Marcus Rashford, and Andrés García. Disasi could make his debut for the club in the FA Cup against Tottenham this Sunday. Disasi scored on his Chelsea debut against Liverpool in last season's opening Premier League game.
