Madrid still holding out on paying big money for Davies (Relevo via 90Min.com)

Real Madrid still maintains interest in Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies, but still does not want to pay much (if anything at all) to get him:

Real Madrid will not pay a big price for Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies this summer. The Bundesliga giants are demanding €50m (£42.1m) to sell Davies, whose contract expires in 2025.

Bayern Munich has been adamant that it is content to let Davies play out this season and walk away for free (which seems...counterproductive), so unless Madrid gets desperate because of injuries or Davies lowers his salary expectations to re-up with Bayern Munich, the Canadian could be looking at his final season in Bavaria.

The last week has been rather light on Bayern Munich related news, especially on the transfer front, which gives us a little breather to talk about the team — specifically the coach. With Vincent Kompany holding his first public training session this last Saturday, the German media is rife with stories about his incredible attention to detail and general Guardiola-esque vibes. Is it too good to be true?

In this episode, INNN and Samrin discuss the following:

Our first impressions of Vincent Kompany in training.

Comparisons to Pep Guardiola — is it just hype?

Kompany vs Mikel Arteta, and what another former “Pep disciple” did to get Arsenal back on track.

What does Kompany need to achieve to be considered a success in his first season?

Will Kompany get as many second-chances from the board as Thomas Tuchel did?

United could also get Rabiot (CaughtOffside via 90Min.com)

Is there anyone who Manchester United is not interested in? You can add the Red Devils to the list of teams who like Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot:

Manchester United are winning the race to sign Adrien Rabiot following his departure from Juventus, but the Frenchman’s agents remain in talks with Arsenal, Liverpool, Tottenham, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Olmo to Spurs? (The Boot Room)

Tottenham Hotspur could be in the mix for RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo:

And whilst they would both be stellar additions, many of a Spurs persuasion are still pining for Dani Olmo. The RB Leipzig midfielder shone at the Euros, and Olmo has since been offered to Tottenham. And although Olmo’s release clause at Leipzig has now expired, journalist Fabrizio Romano has shared some encouraging news for interested clubs over on X.

Speaking on Olmo’s future, Romano said that the Spaniard can still leave the Bundesliga club for €60m (£51m) in the coming weeks, the same value attached to his release clause. Romano said the race is open and mentioned that Olmo’s agent has spoken to unnamed Premier League clubs. He shared: “Dani Olmo will be allowed to leave by RB Leipzig even in the next weeks with proposals in the region of €60m, same as the clause expired.

“His agents have spoken to Barça, Bayern (if Doué-Simons options collapse), Premier League clubs (no talks with City so far).

“Race open.”
