Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Dejan Kulusevski is unlikely to be back before the international break due to a foot injury. Following reports of an issue for the Spurs star, the Swede posted a photo of himself wearing a protective boot on his left foot on his Instagram account on Tuesday evening.
Kulusevski has featured in all 42 of Tottenham's games this season but that record will now come to an end because of his injury. Prior to the first international break of 2025 taking place, Tottenham face Bournemouth and Fulham in the Premier League in addition to the Europa League round of 16 double-header against AZ Alkmaar.
In the Netherlands to preview Thursday evening's game at AFAS Stadion, Postecoglou provided an injury update and revealed all on Kulusevski.
"In terms of haven’t travelled, Deki Kulusevski is the only one," the Australian told football.london. "He got a knock on the foot and he's not sure when really. He’s been able to train and play over the last few weeks.
"We’ve done some further investigations and no real clarity. Unlikely to be back before the international break, but nothing serious and no surgery or anything. Ben Davies is also back at the training ground with Richarlison."
Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven and Dominic Solanke could all possibly feature in Thursday's game against AZ after making the trip to the Netherlands with the rest of the squad. Asked if the trio are in a position to start, Postecoglou said: "We’ll see. They’ve all been out for a significant amount of time so we’ll see when we introduce them."
