Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou is finally be ready to dip into the transfer market to replace Harry Kane - some 12 months after their former talisman left for Bayern Munich.
The Australian seems to be ready to ditch his blueprint of using Son Heung-min as a centre forward, despite the South Korean's return of 17 goals and 10 assists last season.
The 32-year-old is arguably more effective from the left flank and Postecoglou is reportedly in the market for a new striker, with doubts over Richarlison's long-term future.
The Brazilian has been linked with a £60million move to Saudi Arabia, although the striker has made it clear he wants to stay in north London. However, he made only 18 starts in the Premier League last season and Spurs would jump at the chance to make their money back on the 27-year-old.
Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke has been identified as a potential transfer target, with the £50m-rated frontman bagging 19 goals for the Cherries during the 2023-24 campaign.
Despite having 20-year-old Alejo Veliz available after his loan at Sevilla, the Argentinian could join Fiorentina. Postecoglou confirmed he is looking to add another striker to their ranks and dropped a hint about the profile of player they were looking to bring in.
"It's still the area of the park we're really probably the thinnest when I talk about squad-wise at the moment, so obviously that's a focus for us," Postecoglou said.
He added: "At Celtic, I had Kyogo [Furuhashi], who was a sort of out and out number nine and in Japan, I've always had a striker. It just depends, like last year we had to be a bit creative, it's fair to say. But if Harry would have stayed I definitely would have used him!
"So I think for us what's more important is the type of striker we get. You know we play a certain way. We demand certain things from a physical perspective from the technical aspects of it that it's going be a striker that fits that mould."

Football.London report that the South Coast outfit are bracing themselves for an approach for Solanke, although with a £65m release clause - which can only be activated by certain clubs - it could represent an expensive deal.
Solanke would be tasked with spearheading the frontline, with Son on the left and Dejan Kulusevski on the right. Spurs are blessed with a luxury of options out wide, with Timo Werner, Brennan Johnson and Manor Solomon also able to come into the team.
Spurs could also cash in on midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, who has made only 17 starts for the club since his £55m transfer from Real Betis four years ago. The 28-year-old may seek a return to his former club for a cut-price fee, and £15m may be enough to convince chairman Daniel Levy to cut ties.
With James Maddison occupying the No 10 role and exciting talents Lucas Bergvall and Alfie Devine providing backup, Spurs fans will be excited about the prospect of what their team could achieve this season.
