Italian journalist Ivan Zazzaroni believes that AC Milan have been careless in their pursuit of Fabio Paratici and suggests that pressure might have been put on the former Tottenham managing director of football to not take a role at the Rossoneri.
Just over a week ago, reports first emerged that Daniel Levy was trying his best to bring Paratici back to Spurs in an official role.
However, sources suggested that Tottenham were set to taste defeat in their pursuit of the Italian as Paratici was thought to be on the verge of taking over Milan’s sporting director.
The script has flipped once again over recent days as some sources claim that Tottenham’s hopes of re-appointing Paratici might have resurrected as his move to Milan is thought to be in danger of falling through.
Journalist claims pressure was put on Fabio Paratici
Ivan Zazzaroni is shocked by how the Paratici drama has played out and he believes that Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani has been too careless in his approach.
Speaking about the recent developments, Zazzaroni wrote in Corriere dello Sport (as relayed by MilanLive): “Dear Furlani, when you started talking to Paratici to bring him to Milan, were you unaware of the fact that the disqualification of the former Juve sporting director would expire on July 20?”
Zazzaroni also suggested that the former Spurs managing director might have been pressured against taking up a role at the San Siro.

The journalist added: “For days I have been absolutely convinced that someone put pressure on Paratici not to end up at Milan. But now I ask: once a temporary disqualification has been served does a man have the right to start again or, on the contrary, is he sentenced to a life sentence at work?”
What Daniel Levy has told Fabio Paratici about Spurs return
It remains to be seen if Paratici will re-join Tottenham Hotspur in an official role and one does wonder what his return will mean for the club’s technical director, Johan Lange.
However, the one thing that appears clear is that the Spurs chairman is desperate to bring the Italian back to N17.
It was reported last week that Daniel Levy had told Paratici to return and finish the job that he started at Tottenham back in 2021.
It will become clear over the coming weeks and months if that appeal by Levy had any effect on Paratici’s decision to turn down the Milan offer.
