German International Timo Werner is currently on loan at Tottenham Hotspur from RB Leipzig.

The North London club have the option to make his move permanent at the end of the season, but it seems unlikely given his performances. The player has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months and a transfer to the MLS could be on the cards.

The Tottenham striker’s former teammate, Emil Forsberg is currently playing for New York Red Bulls, and the Swedish International has revealed that he would love for the German striker to join him at the MLS club.

The 33-year-old Swedish attacker has revealed in an interview that he would love to reunite with Werner at the end of the season.

“Of course I would love to take Timo. He’s a great player. We had great years in Leipzig. But unfortunately, I can’t make that decision,” he told Bild.

It is evident that he is not good enough for the Premier League and he is unwanted at RB Leipzig as well. The German club will look to sell permanently in the summer and Werner needs to sort out his long-term future. Moving to the MLS could give him the fresh start he needs right now. The 28-year-old has the quality to succeed in the United States. He would get regular gametime there as well.

The player is still very much at the peak of his powers and joining the right club could bring out the best in him once again.

Meanwhile, Tottenham should look to bring in an upgrade on him in the summer. They need a dynamic forward, who is capable of slotting into multiple roles and contributing with goals and creativity.
