Bethany England has returned to training and could be involved in our Barclays Women’s Super League clash with Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon (2pm UK).

Our captain and leading goalscorer this term picked up a quad injury last month, forcing her to miss our home fixture with Brighton & Hove Albion followed by our trips to West Ham United and Leicester City in her period on the sidelines.

However, following the two-week break from action, Bethany has since returned to training and our Head Coach revealed that she could be back in contention for this Sunday’s game at Brisbane Road.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon, he said: "She has trained well this week, so she's back running and, hopefully, she's in the squad for this weekend, which is very good news for us."

Unfortunately, Robert reported that Hayley Raso, Luana Buhler and Charlotte Grant are set to miss the encounter with Villa.

Hayley and Luana have both picked up knocks and are expected to be on the sidelines for an extended period, with the former set to miss the rest of the campaign while he hopes to have the Switzerland international back before the end of the season.

He also confirmed that ‘Charli’ is expected to be unavailable for Sunday after suffering a small issue while on international duty with Australia.

He added: "Charli came back from her national team with a minor issue, so she unlikely to be involved this weekend.

"Luana, as well, came back with an injury so she's out for the first upcoming games and perhaps all four games, while Hayley has a quad issue which means she can't play anymore this season."
