Girona are in talks with Tottenham for the services of Spanish attacker Bryan Gil.

While Gil still has two years left on his deal at the North London club, his departure looks almost certain as he doesn’t seem to be a part of their plans moving ahead. According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Girona are keen on signing the former Sevilla star and they have opened talks with Tottenham for his signature.

Gil made the move to Spurs in the summer of 2021. While the 23-year-old was expected to have quite an impact at his new club, things haven’t worked out for him in London. He has struggled to establish himself in their first team and has spent a significant amount of time out on loan.

While he was a part of Ange Postecoglou’s squad for the 2023/24 season, he was only involved in 12 matches and racked up less than 250 minutes. Spurs are looking to get him off their books ahead of next season and there is interest in his services from Girona who are looking to reinforce their squad following a top-four finish in La Liga last season.

Savinho’s loan spell at the Spanish club has ended and he has joined Manchester City from Troyes. The Brazilian’s departure means they need to bring in a quality right winger to replace him and Bryan Gil is one of the names on their wishlist.

While he surely is a surprise name on their radar, Girona have already established contact with Tottenham as they look to strike a deal for Gil. Nothing concrete has happened yet as talks are still in the initial stage. But, the Spanish club are confident that they can strike a deal for a bargain price as the 23-year-old hardly played any football last season.
