Everton are set to battle it out with Tottenham Hotspur for an exciting forward in the final hours of the window.
Ironically, Everton’s victory on Saturday saw the Toffees leapfrog Tottenham in the table.
Both sides are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements before Monday’s transfer deadline with injuries riddling their front lines.
Everton want to sign a new attacking player for David Moyes following the three injuries suffered to his strikers alone.
However, the Blues have had their struggles in the market with no deals officially over the line.
It now looks as if they are going to have battle the Europa League side, Tottenham, if they are to land one of their late targets.
Tottenham to battle Everton for Rayan Cherki
With attacking additions on the mind, Everton have shown interest in Rayan Cherki of Lyon alongside his teammate Ernest Nuamah.
Injuries have decimated Moyes’ options up front with this being perhaps the biggest area of need ahead of the deadline.

But according to GiveMeSport, Everton are now set to face some serious competition for the 21-year-old’s signature.
Tottenham are now said to be eyeing Cherki after being recommended by their former director of football Fabio Paratici.
Lyon are said to be open to selling Cherki before Monday due to their financial struggles.
Cherki has an £18.6m release clause in his Lyon contract, which could prove a bargain move for such an exciting player.
The clock is ticking on Kevin Thelwell who really needs to pull a rabbit out of the hat.
What Kylian Mbappe once said about Rayan Cherki
After months of interest, Everton have missed out on Nuamah who is now set to remain at Lyon for the remainder of the campaign.
But all is not lost, with Everton potentially able to find an even more exciting player in Nuamah’s 21-year-old teammate.
It has been an ‘outrageous‘ season for Cherki who’s provided some encouraging returns for Lyon.
And that is not all, Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe has already given his stamp of approval for the 21-year-old.
Replying to a post about Cherki’s talent at a young age, Mbappe said: “Don’t talk to him too much about age, huh.”
