Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has earned praise for securing another savvy off-the-field deal that strengthens the club’s financial position.

Football finance expert Dan Plumley recently highlighted Levy’s business expertise after Spurs announced a new three-year partnership with Ant International, a global digital payment and financial technology company.

Under this agreement, Ant International will become Tottenham’s Official Global Payment Solutions and Digital Wallet Partner. Plumley pointed out that while deals like these may not always generate buzz among fans, they are crucial for increasing the club’s revenue streams.

He emphasised that such commercial partnerships, even if perceived as unconventional, are a sharp move by Levy and the Spurs leadership to capitalise on financial opportunities.

Plumley compared Tottenham’s strategy to that of clubs like Manchester United, which has built an extensive network of official partners across various sectors.

For Spurs, this partnership with Ant International represents a further step in expanding their commercial reach and enhancing their already significant portfolio of sponsors.

Daniel Levy praised for pulling off a smart commercial deal

Speaking to Tottenham News, the finance guru commented:

“Absolutely it’s a smart deal. You see some of these, what might be considered obscure commercial deals where people become official patterns of this and that and Manchester United were one of the early blueprints for that.”

“Many years ago, they had 32 different official partners that stretched all the way across various different products and services.”

“It’s a way to generate additional revenue and Tottenham have always been very astute when it comes to this.”

“We know how Daniel Levy operates, this seems like another example of that. It goes back to that wider point around the importance of growing commercial partnerships and squeezing that where you can is still an area of growth potential for clubs.”

Under Levy’s leadership, the Lilywhites have consistently prioritised brand development, both on and off the field. The club has attracted major partners such as Nike and AIA, securing lucrative sponsorship deals that have helped boost Tottenham’s global presence.

These partnerships not only generate revenue but also enhance the club’s international image, attracting top football talent and reinforcing Spurs as a prominent brand in world football.

Levy’s approach to business growth has consistently proven effective, and this new deal with Ant International is another example of his ability to secure partnerships that contribute to the club’s financial health and long-term stability.

With Levy at the helm, Spurs fans can look forward to continued off-the-field growth as the club builds a strong commercial foundation, complementing the work being done on the pitch under manager Ange Postecoglou.

This is not the first time Levy has been praised for his financial acumen. He has time ang again proven to pull off deals that have been financially lucrative for the club, both on and off the pitch.
