I can't find any pictures of Newcastle lifting the the trophy - but that's not because I'm trying to take another honour away from them, I'm not I swear!

I have found the 2019 Deportivo De La Coruna posing with it though.

Enes Unal was on loan at Bournemouth last season and joined the Cherries permenantly this summer.

He has made 17 appearances this term, scoring two goals and creating one assist.

He's won a couple of penalties too.

This isn't the first time Enes Unal has damaged his ACL.

He had a previous tear which saw him miss much of the first half of the 2023-24 season when he was playing for Getafe.

Bournemouth's Unal suffers ACL injury

Some breaking news from the South Coast.

Bournemouth have released this statement on social media...

"We are devastated to confirm that Enes Unal has suffered a tear to his right anterior cruciate ligament during a training session this week.

"We are all behind Enes and the club's medical and performance staff will support him in every way possible."

Is Potter the right replacement?

Graham Potter is the prime candidate to succeed Julen Lopetegui at the London Stadium.

West Ham began talks with the Englishman regarding a short-term deal before dismissing Lopetegui.

Potter took an unconventional route into coaching, taking Swedish side Ostersund from the fourth tier to Europe in the space of seven years.

He spent a season at Swansea City before taking charge at Brighton in 2019. After implementing an attractive style of football and establishing the Seagulls as a mid-table Premier League side, Potter was appointed manager of Chelsea.

That big move didn't go to plan though, with Potter dismissed after seven months having won just 12 of his 31 games in charge.

Potter was linked with the England job, but the Football Association chose Thomas Tuchel as Gareth Southgate's successor.

What's happening at West Ham?

Rumours are circulating on social media and gossip columns that West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui is set to be sacked today.

What we do know is that West Ham did have a manager's press conference scheduled for 13:15 GMT which they cancelled this morning.

Lopetegui then took team training as normal.

Graham Potter has been in talks to replace Lopetegui, initially on a short term deal.

Oh my goodness, what have I done?!

First I claim the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup wasn't a major trophy by mistake, and then I try to scrub a Cup won by Newcastle completely out of the record books.

I'll never be allowed in the city again!

Basically, Tottenham won it in 1902, beating Corinthians (not the Brazilian one). That didn't make the cut for today's live, but it's been in my head ever since.

'Musk wants to buy Liverpool'

Liverpool's owners Fenway Sports Group have not received any approaches for the club after Elon Musk's father Errol told Times Radio his son was interested in buying the Reds.

FSG, which added Liverpool to their sporting portfolio in 2010, has looked for external investment in the past but at no point has a full sale been seriously considered.

However, Errol Musk was asked whether his son had his eye on Anfield. "I can't comment on that. They'll raise the price," he said.

When pressed on whether Elon - the world's richest man - would want to buy Liverpool he added: "Oh, yes. But that doesn't mean he's buying it. "He would like to yes, obviously. Anybody would want to - so would I."

What's the Kolanka Cup?

What is the kolanka Cup, we hear you ask?

It's a polo trophy awarded in India. According to the Guinness World Book of Records, at six feet tall it's the tallest sports trophy in the world.

Oh, and it's made of pure silver.

Dortmund join Rashford chase

Let's quickly look at the Gossip page, and it's Marcus Rashford who leads it today.

Borussia Dortmund and Juventus have joined AC Milan in weighing up a move for for the out-of-favour English forward. (Sky Sports), external

Good move, bad move? Should he leave United, where would like to see Rashford next?

Post

The Borg Warner trophy is just under 5 feet 4 inches apparently.

We still haven't found a taller trophy than the Sheriff of London Shield.

This must be music to any Tottenham fan's ears.

What a record to boast! "Biggest trophy" winners.
