Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has been linked with her move away from the club this summer.
La Liga outfit Real Betis want to bring him back to the club, but they are unwilling to meet Tottenham’s asking price. The North London club are holding out for a fee of around €15 million, but Real Betis would be willing to offer around €10 million.
It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can reach a compromise. The report from ABC Sevilla claims that Lo Celso would be willing to force an exit by threatening to leave on a free transfer next year if Spurs do not allow him to move on this summer.
The midfielder is not a key starter at Spurs and he wants to play more often. He has fond memories of his time at Real Betis and he was a key player for them. A return to La Liga would be ideal for him.
The technically gifted midfielder would add goals, flair and creativity to their attack and help them improve in the final third. He is also capable of playing as a winger as well as in the number ten role.
He is expected to replace Nabil Fekir at the Spanish club this summer.
Meanwhile, Spurs need to improve their squad as well and they should look to cut their losses on the player and let him move on. The proceeds from his exit will boost their transfer coffers.
It remains to be seen how the situation unfolds over the next few weeks.
Spurs paid €48 million including bonuses for the midfielder and they will have to incur heavy losses on him this summer.
