Former Vasco da Gama attacker Edmundo has hinted that the Brazilian club could look to make a move for Richarlison in 2025.
The Tottenham Hotspur attacker has not been able to live up to the expectations since the big-money move from Everton and he has been linked with an exit from the club in recent months. Tottenham ended up keeping him at the club beyond the summer window, but it seems that a move in the near future could be on the cards.
Edmundo has revealed that Vasco da Gama are looking to improve their squad soon and they are looking to bring in a quality striker. The 53-year-old went on to namedrop Richarlison as a potential target.
“Now, the idea is to keep all the main players and hire two or three heavyweight players. One for the defence, one for the midfield and two for the attack. Heavyweight like Richarlison. I’m dreaming and I can guarantee that 2025 will be different,” he said via CNN Brasil.
It will be interesting to see if Vasco da Gama comes forward with an offer to sign the Brazilian international in the upcoming months. Tottenham could be tempted to cash in on him if there is a lucrative proposal on the table.
They will be fully aware of the fact that they will have to cut their losses on the player, given his performances since joining.
Richarlison could use a fresh start as well and moving away from Tottenham would be ideal for him. It remains to be seen how the situation develops.
