Tottenham are ready to table an offer worth around €30 million for Federico Chiesa.
Federico Chiesa’s contract with Juventus runs out in 12 months and his future at the Turin-based club has become a big talking point. While there is interest in his services from Italian clubs, Tottenham are also in the mix and according to Gianni Balzarini, the North London club are ready to put forward an offer worth €30 million to acquire his services.
While talking about the Italian international’s future, Balzarini said as quoted by TuttoJuve: “I confirm that Tottenham are interested in Federico Chiesa. That is, Tottenham would be ready to make an offer of around €30m, maybe even a little more, for Federico Chiesa and Juve could practically jump for joy.
“In the sense that it would be a figure that goes beyond the €20-25m that Roma or Napoli offered or could eventually offer.”
Chiesa is expected to be on the move this summer as a new deal doesn’t look like a possibility anymore. While he did have an incredible start to life in Turin, injuries didn’t help his cause. He is only 26 and still has a lot of years left in him, as a result, a move elsewhere could help him return to his best.
Tottenham are quite keen on adding the Italian winger to their squad as they seek more depth out wide on the flanks. Ange Postecoglou needs more options in attack and he is focused on bringing in players who can create as well as score. Chiesa seems to be a great fit for them as he can play anywhere in attack and surely has an eye for goal.
While reports earlier suggested that Juventus’ asking price is around €20-25 million, the Italian journalist has reported that Tottenham could table an offer of around €30 million or even more to strike a deal with the Old Lady who will be delighted if they do get that big a fee for someone can leave for free next summer. The figure should be good enough for them to win the race as Italian clubs AS Roma and Napoli can’t afford to offer more than €20-25 million.
