Tottenham Hotspur are expected to get rid of their fringe players this summer and Giovani Lo Celso could be on his way out of the club.

According to Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge via GMS, the 28-year-old does not fit into Ange Postecoglou’s style of football and he is likely to be sold. Bridge has added that Spurs will now focus on getting rid of their fringe players in the remaining days of the window.

“The focus over the next few days is going to be on outgoings. In particular, Lo Celso, who will command a decent transfer fee. I don’t think he’s an Ange Postecoglou player.”

They have done some interesting transfer business this summer and they have improved their squad immensely. They will look to free up their wage bill and get rid of players who are not a key part of their plans now.

The Argentine international has been linked with a move away from the club in recent months and it will be interesting to see where he ends up. The 28-year-old is a quality player on his day, but he has not been able to hold down a regular starting spot at Tottenham and convince the manager to give him regular opportunities. He has been linked with the return to La Liga, with Real Betis keen on securing his signature.

Lo Celso needs to play regularly at this stage of his career and leaving Tottenham would be ideal for all parties. It remains to be seen whether any club is willing to come forward and submit an acceptable offer for him in the coming weeks.
