Danny Rose believes that Mauricio Pochettino may one day return to manage Tottenham Hotspur again.

The North London club might not have had the best of starts in the 2024/25 season but Ange Postecoglou has done a great job since taking charge in the summer of 2023. He has got them playing an attacking and attractive brand of football and given the kind of signings they have made, Spurs are expected to take the next step under the Australian manager in the new season.

Everything seems to be going in the right direction but former Spurs defender Danny Rose has claimed that they could make a surprise managerial appointment as he feels Mauricio Pochettino could return to manage the North London club. The Argentine manager who helped establish Spurs as one of the title contenders and helped them make it to the final of the Champions League during his spell from 2014 to 2019 could soon be back at his former club.

While speaking on the In The Zone podcast, Rose said via Football London: “I definitely thought that pre-Chelsea, [Mauricio] Pochettino could return to Tottenham,”

“I don’t think that him going to Chelsea for a year hinders that happening again in the future. Although it’s another four years until the next World Cup and hopefully, he’s going to see it out with managing the USA.

“Of course, anything can happen in the next four years but before he went to Chelsea, I thought it was nailed on that he probably would have gone to Spurs before Ange. I still believe that he will return to Tottenham as manager one day.”

Following a successful time at Tottenham, the Argentine manager had a spell at Paris Saint-Germain before taking charge of rival London club Chelsea. Rose feels Pochettino’s one-year-long spell at the Blues is unlikely to have any impact on him potentially returning to the North London club.

While he has recently taken charge of the USA national team and is expected to be around to lead them to the next World Cup, anything could happen in the next years. Rose strongly believes the Argentine manager who is very popular among Tottenham fans will be back leading his former club in the future.
