Tottenham Hotspur are considering signing a new midfielder following Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s loan move to Marseille.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs are looking to reinforce their midfield and potentially add another forward player this summer.
Hojbjerg, despite often playing a secondary role, was a crucial part of Tottenham’s midfield, and his departure has left a gap that manager Ange Postecoglou is eager to fill.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Romano indicates that Spurs are actively seeking a reliable midfield addition to strengthen their squad.
The Italian journalist stated:
“It is a possibility for Tottenham to bring in a new midfielder after Hojbjerg’s exit, I still think that they want to do something in the offensive position.”
Tottenham have already signed Archie Gray from Leeds United, who is expected to play a key role in Tottenham’s midfield in the upcoming season.
But they still need to further bolster their midfield and have been linked with several players including Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze.
Although Eze is under contract with Crystal Palace until June 2027, Tottenham are reportedly ready to meet his £60 million release clause.
The potential addition of a new midfielder or forward would further strengthen their chances of success in the upcoming season.
