Randal Kolo Muani’s future at Paris Saint-Germain is up in the air with the January transfer window now open. The 26-year-old forward has struggled to make a major impact during his first two seasons at the club, raising the possibility of a departure this month.
Having played just 453 minutes across all competitions, Kolo Muani has yet to secure a regular starting role. His absence from PSG’s squad for the final three matches of 2024 has only fueled rumors of a potential move.
According to GIVE ME SPORT, talks are ongoing between PSG and Tottenham Hotspur about a possible deal for Kolo Muani. PSG is seeking an obligation to buy at the end of a loan, while Tottenham prefers an option to buy, giving them more flexibility depending on his performance.
David Ornstein from The Athletic reports that Tottenham, Manchester United, and Juventus are all in the running to sign Kolo Muani on loan this January, with these three clubs leading the race.
What does Juventus have to say about their Kolo Muani interest?
Juventus club chief Cristiano Giuntoli spoke about the Italian side making any moves this January amid their reported interest in Kolo Muani.
“The strategy is to reinforce the squad in defence and look around if there are any opportunities in other areas of the team,” Giuntoli told DAZN (h/t The Mirror). “We must respect many different parameters, both economic and technical, and it is difficult to get great players in January, so we need to have patience.”
GIVE ME SPORT reported on Sunday, citing sources, that Tottenham are not currently willing to include an obligation to buy in their loan offer for Kolo Muani.
Spurs have acted quickly to take the lead in the race for the French international’s signature, hoping he will choose them over Juventus or Manchester United. Kolo Muani is open to considering a move to Tottenham but wants to hear from all interested clubs before making a decision.
The report also notes that PSG does not have a preferred destination for the player, as the only loan offers they’ve received so far include an option to buy. PSG are hoping for an obligation to buy in the region of £50 million.
