Ange Postecoglou has been handed a triple Tottenham injury boost before the Carabao Cup quarter-final against Manchester United. Spurs have been hugely impacted by injuries this season with Son Heung-min, Dominic Solanke and Micky van de Ven all having missed some action.
Results for Tottenham have been very inconsistent recently with only two victories in their last seven. A rampant first-half display against Southampton saw the Lilywhites score five and become the top scorers in the league with 36 goals scored.
Postecoglou's side will now be looking to build momentum from that result with a spot in the Carabao Cup semi-finals up for grabs. Injury issues are continuing to plague Spurs however, with Guglielmo Vicario and Rodrigo Bentancur already ruled out.
On Wednesday, the Tottenham boss offered not so positive updates on Destiny Udogie, Cristian Romero and Van de Ven. "From the other night, Destiny no injury but he is still sore from the game. Not ruling him out but will see how he is with the turnaround," Postecoglou said.
"I think both (Van de Ven and Romero) will be in the new year. Not as significant an injury as last time with Micky but obviously having a setback the medical team is going to make sure he is right to go." Though all three will miss Man United, another trio are close to returns.
Mikey Moore has not featured for over a month after being hit hard by a virus, while Ben Davies and Richarlison were both hit by hamstring injuries. "Mikey is back in training," he said. "The next cabs off the rank are Mikey and Ben Davies potentially next week and Richarlison potentially first week of the new year."
Though those three names will soon return, Wilson Odobert is expected to remain out for a significant period. Postecoglou does have at least one return though, with Yves Bissouma available again after serving a suspension in the dominant win away at Southampton.
