Leeds United targeting Oliver Skipp after signing Joe Rodon permanently.
The player could come in on loan, with a potential buy option included.
However, Spurs are keen to secure a replacement before Skipp leaves, which could delay a deal.
Leeds United are set to make a fresh bid for Oliver Skipp.
That's according to Planet Sport, who believe that the Whites are continuing to target a second Tottenham Hotspur player after managing to conclude a deal to sign Joe Rodon permanently.
Leeds have been active in the summer transfer window, following their disappointing play-off final defeat against Southampton in May, but they have needed to lose a key player in order to secure some solid additions.
Archie Gray made the move to Spurs earlier in the summer to balance the books - and it was a painful departure for the Whites who would have been desperate to keep hold of what was their most talented young player.
At just 18, Gray had managed to establish himself as one of the West Yorkshire side's most important players and in the end, that allowed him to earn a move to the English capital.
Rodon's arrival helped to soften the blow - and they have also managed to bring in the talented Joe Rothwell on loan.
Rothwell has been a real asset in midfield at this level before - and could be a vital player for Daniel Farke's side during the 2024/25 campaign.
Alex Cairns, meanwhile, has come in to strengthen the club's goalkeeping department.
There's plenty of work to be done before the season starts, particularly at right-back, but they have made a solid start to the window and still have weeks to go until 2024/25 begins.
Leeds United face barrier in quest to sign Oliver Skipp
Glen Kamara looks set to leave Elland Road for French top-tier side Stade Rennais - and with Gray already leaving - his departure would leave a hole in the middle of the park that needs to be filled.
The likes of Ilia Gruev, Ethan Ampadu and Rothwell may be available as options, but they need more depth in the middle of the park.
It has been reported by Planet Sport that Leeds have retained their interest in Skipp and will make a fresh move for the player when Kamara officially secures his exit.
Having been told that he was unavailable when Gray was in the process of being sold, they could be set to return to the table with an offer.
However, Spurs are thought to be keen to replace Skipp before sanctioning an exit for the midfielder, who could join the Whites on a loan deal with a permanent option potentially being included.
Tottenham's preference could potentially delay a deal from being struck.
Oliver Skipp could be a vital addition for Leeds United
Looking at the club's midfield department, they definitely require additions.
Right now, Leeds don't have many options in central defence either, so Ampadu could be required to step up in that area.
That would leave Leeds with even fewer options in the middle of the park, so recruiting at least a couple of midfielders will be crucial after Kamara's departure.
Gruev was linked with a move to Borussia Dortmund earlier this summer as well, so potentially replacements may need to be lined up as potential replacements for him if he goes.
In terms of Skipp, he has managed to do a respectable job at the top level and has EFL experience under his belt.
He has also played under Farke before, which should allow him to make a positive start to life at Elland Road if he makes the switch to West Yorkshire.
