Tottenham Hotspur have accepted a loan offer for Bryan Gil from Spanish side Girona , according to Football Insider.
The report claims that the 23-year-old is set to fly out to Spain soon for a medical examination and to finalise the transfer.
The loan deal, reportedly over £1 million, will see Gil join a Girona side that finished third in La Liga last season and secured a spot in the Champions League.
Bryan Gil joined Tottenham from Sevilla in the summer of 2021 on a five-year contract for a fee of €25 million.
However, he has struggled to find consistent playing time at Spurs. In his first season, he logged only 85 minutes across nine league games, leading to a loan to Valencia in January. Upon his return to North London the following season, Gil was loaned out again in January to Sevilla.
His third season with Spurs began with an injury that sidelined him for several months. After recovering, Gil continued to struggle for regular playing time under new manager Ange Postecoglou, making only 11 Premier League appearances and totaling just 201 minutes on the pitch.
This loan to Girona will be Gil’s third since joining Tottenham. The move is aimed at providing him with more playing time and opportunities to develop his career further. Girona will reportedly have the first option to sign Gil permanently, giving Spurs a chance to reassess his future with the club.
Tottenham initially signed Bryan Gil with high expectations, but his time at the club has been marred by limited opportunities and injuries. This loan to Girona could be a pivotal moment for Gil as he seeks to revitalize his career in a competitive La Liga environment.
