Forster steps up

Rangers 1-1 Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham fans would have been rightly concerned when goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario broke his ankle in the 4-0 win over Manchester City last month.

But stand-in Fraser Forster has performed superbly, with the 36-year-old making a stunning late save at Ibrox to deny Rangers sub Cyriel Dessers a winner.

Spurs have won just one of their last eight games in all competitions - but it could have been worse without the performance of the former Celtic keeper.

“I thought we worked our way back into the game well and the subs coming on made a difference," Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou said.

"We scored a good goal, had a couple of other moments, but in the end, a great save by Frase gets us, in the context of where we are in Europe, an important point.”

Greenwood injury mars Man City Champions League win

Man City 2-0 St Polten

Teenager Lily Murphy scored her first senior goal as Manchester City eased to victory against St Polten, but the win was overshadowed by Alex Greenwood being taken off on a stretcher.

Second-half goals for Murphy and Kerstin Casparij maintained City's 100% record in the Women's Champions League this season and keeps them top of Group D, three points ahead of defending champions Barcelona.

The hosts found plenty of joy down the left-hand channel as forward Murphy - making her first start in the absence of Khadija Shaw, who BBC Sport understands was left out as a precaution - attempted to make the most of her full first-team debut.

Hojlund double gives Man Utd late comeback win at Plzen

Viktoria Plzen 1-2 Man United

Steve Sutcliffe

BBC Sport

Rasmus Hojlund came off the bench to score twice as Manchester United fought back from a goal down to claim a vital Europa League win at Viktoria Plzen.

The result lifts Ruben Amorim's side into the top eight positions that would automatically see them qualify for the last 16 of the competition.

Hojlund has now scored five times in the competition this term and sparked a United revival after his second-half introduction.

Spurs come from behind to hold Rangers in breathless Europa League tie

Rangers 1-1 Tottenham

George O'Neill

BBC Sport Scotland

Rangers and Tottenham Hotspur both moved a step closer to the Europa League knockout stages after they played out a captivating draw at Ibrox.

Hamza Igamane gave the hosts the lead just 81 seconds into the second half with a fine finish from James Tavernier's cross, before Dejan Kulusevski equalised for Tottenham with a low left-footed drive after a superb team move.

Both sides had chances to win a gripping contest on Glasgow's southside - none more so than when Cyriel Dessers was denied by Fraser Forster late on - but some last-ditch defending and sharp goalkeeping kept it at 1-1.
