Manchester United fans have called out one player's poor performance in the first half of the Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.
United were shocked by Spurs early into their match at Old Trafford as Brennan Johnson scored in the third minute to take the visitors 1-0 up going into half-time.
The Red Devils struggled throughout the match, with the biggest blow coming shortly before the end of the half as captain Bruno Fernandes was shown a straight red card after fouling James Maddison.
But there is one player in particular that fans picked out as being especially frustrating in the match.
Joshua Zirkzee missed United's best chance of the first half, causing fans to take to social media to criticise his failure to equalise and put their side back in the match.
Posting on X one fan wrote: "Might be the worst 30 min of football I’ve ever watched this. Has Zirkzee won a competition to play for us?"
Another added: "Zirkzee is really slow. Killed the counter attacking man united philosophy. Fails to convert one on one situation. Not a finisher."
While another pointed out: "Zirkzee is 1.93m, in comparison to Haaland who is 1.94m but Zirkzee is always stretching for the ball, never seems to be in control of his shot, bizarre."
And another fan agreed with this assessment, adding: "Zirkzee is ALWAYS stretching man, striker with zero f****** box instinct."
Things only got worse for United in the second half as, just two minutes after coming back onto the pitch, Swedish winger Dejan Kulusevski doubled the lead for Tottenham Hotspur.
