Latest from Sky Sports News' Dharmesh Sheth:
Manchester United have held initial discussions with Burnley over a deal for midfielder Sander Berge.
United are exploring the conditions of a potential transfer.
Sky Sports News understands Berge wants to make the move to Old Trafford. The midfielder has three years left on his contract.
Meanwhile, dialogue remains open with Monaco over the signing of midfielder Youssouf Fofana.
Sky Sports News understands a deal is there to be done for a player in the final year of his contract. Fofana was part of France’s Euro 2024 squad.
AC Milan’s interest in the midfielder has cooled after they were unable to agree a deal with Monaco.
Interest in Paris Saint Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte has cooled because of a significant gap in valuation.
Going back to the negotiating table has not been ruled out – but is likely to depend on PSG dropping their asking price.
Richard Rios of Palmeiras remains a player of interest – but his fee could prove prohibitive. Another option is Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat, who United had on loan last season.
While not essential, ideally United would want to create squad space and increase budgets ahead of bringing in a player.
As it stands, Fulham are not expected to go back in for Scott McTominay. Galatasaray are interested but have yet to get close to United’s valuation.
Interest from Saudi Arabia in Casemiro has cooled for now.
Latest from Sky Sports News' Dharmesh Sheth:
Bayern Munich are yet to budge on their €50m (£43m) asking price for Matthijs de Ligt.
United have explored separate and joint deals for Bayern Munich duo De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui – but as yet, no agreement.
While there is stalemate, Bayern can’t proceed with their move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah.
A potential arrival would be less problematic if United could sell one of their centre-backs.
Meanwhile, there is cautious optimism a deal can be struck to sell right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka to West Ham United.
A lot of the details between the clubs have been agreed. Contractual details and terms of his departure with United are still to be finalised.
Inter Milan remain keen on the player and have explored a deal that would see Denzel Dumfries go to Old Trafford.
As it stands, United prefer a sale to West Ham in order to pursue a deal with Bayern for Mazraoui.

Erik ten Hag believes Ruud van Nistelrooy could be crucial in turning Manchester United's strikers into attacking stars.
United's front line will be under pressure at the start of the season with Rasmus Hojlund set to miss the opening part of the season with injury, leaving new signing Joshua Zirkzee as the likely No 9 to start the campaign.
Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford and Antony endured a difficult campaigns last time out while there are also the young shoulders of Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo, who could play big roles.
“He will have an impact on the strikers, but he will also work in other areas so it’s not only limited to the strikers,” Ten Hag said of Van Nistelrooy. “I think the strikers will definitely benefit from it, but he will work in togetherness with Rene Hake to drive the team.
“They are two very experienced coaches who were both managers. They know how to coach a team, how to drive a team forward and to challenge the team [so] that they are ready to win games and to win trophies. We are very pleased that we have them both on board.
“He will help all the players, but in particular, of course the strikers can take benefit from him because he was such a great striker.
“He scored so many goals, he had so much success, so definitely he will help the strikers in different areas and definitely on the mental side, bringing over his desire to win games and by scoring goals.”
Asked if Van Nistelrooy can help Rashford get back to his best, Ten Hag replied: “I have no doubt. I have strong belief in the person. I have strong belief in his skills to help our team score goals but also to help our team, working as a team, and that mean we are attacking as an XI.
“He may be the one in the end who finishes but he is part of 11 players. We have to attack with 11 players and we have to defend with 11 players and the front players are the first defenders.”

West Ham are still pushing to sign Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka which can have a domino effect on other deals.
The right-back is open to the move and personal terms not expected to be a problem. There is work to do on fee, structure and contractual details, though.
If a deal can be struck, United have a lot of the details in place to sign Bayern Munich right-back Noussair Mazraoui.
United are also still hoping to find a compromise on the price for Matthijs de Ligt with Bayern holding firm on their €50m valuation.
Meanwhile, Bayern have a deal agreed in principle with Bayer Leverkusen to sign their defender Jonathan Tah.
If United can’t find an agreement with Bayern over De Ligt, then he’s likely to stay with Tah remaining at Leverkusen.
Mazraoui and De Ligt have the same representative and both want to make the move to Old Trafford.
Andre Onana has vowed to "take a lot risks" as his looks to build on a mixed first season at Manchester United.
The Cameroon international says he arrived at Old Trafford from Inter Milan last summer as the "best goalkeeper in the world" but often failed to live up to that moniker as United finished eight in the Premier League.
But with the start of the new campaign less than two weeks away, Onana said: "I will take a lot of risks. I can tell you in advance already.
"Be prepared because it’s going to be this season, trust me. I will enjoy it even more when this season starts."
He added: "The best team in the world takes risks. I will take a lot of responsibility and I think my back is huge to carry it all."
Despite a disappointing 2023/24 season - which led to United speaking to other manager before committing to Erik ten Hag - Onana insists his side can win trophies in the coming campaign.
"We already showed in the past games we can beat anyone so we’re going to fight to win everything," he said.

Paris Saint Germain have held initial talks with Manchester United over the signing of Jadon Sancho.
Discussions were over the conditions of a potential deal. Sancho could be open to a move, with personal terms not expected to be a problem.
Dialogue is open between PSG and United as they have discussed Manuel Ugarte this summer.
United retain an interest in the midfield – but not at the prices being quoted by PSG.
United are aware PSG want to do business having just signed Joao Neves from Benfica for £50m.
Ugarte is keen on a move to Old Trafford but, in keeping with United's approach this summer, they are working on a number of other midfielders – including Monaco's Youssouf Fofana, Real Socieded's Martin Zubimendi, Fiorentina's Sofyan Amrabat and Burnley's Sander Berge.
Squad space will need to be created for United to go into the market for a midfielder. Fulham are deciding whether to go back in for Scott McTominay after having two bids rejected.
Manchester United's shirt sponsor Snapdragon is open to the possibility of securing naming rights to Old Trafford, should the club look to help finance a new stadium in that way, report The Athletic.
The tech brand signed a three-year deal to appear on the front of United's shirts in July and Don McGuire, chief marketing officer of Qualcomm, which owns Snapdragon, has said that partnership could be expanded.
"Old Trafford is Old Trafford, it should always be Old Trafford but if there is a brand attached to that in some way shape or form... we are working very closely with the team on the reimagining of Old Trafford from a technology and innovation standpoint, and Carrington (the club’s training ground), so if that leads to something bigger, where it would make sense for us to go even bigger, we are always looking out for opportunities.”
Last month Sky Sports reported the Old Trafford Regeneration Task Force has initially concluded that a new stadium build for United would be a more transformative option than redeveloping the existing ground.
It is reported that a new 100,000-seater stadium has been recommended - which would make it the largest in the UK.
Man Utd's injury worries continued during the overnight defeat to Liverpool.
Victor Lindelof was withdrawn as a precaution at the break, while illness got the better of Jonny Evans.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka - who has been linked with a summer move to West Ham - also went down in the 80th minute and was treated on the pitch before being replaced.
More concerningly, academy graduate Will Fish was stretchered off after a challenge with the Reds' Harvey Blair.
Marcus Rashford and Antony were then withdrawn with issues against Real Betis, although both went on to play some part in the loss to Liverpool.
The fresh concerns follow the news summer signing Leny Yoro has been ruled out for around three months with a foot injury, while Rasmus Hojlund will miss six weeks.
Erik ten Hag told MUTV: “We have to see what has gone on.
“The assessment, of course, with Will Fish is it’s an impact injury. We also had to sub Jonny Evans at half-time because he was ill. Victor Lindelof was a precaution. So, yeah, there are some injuries, but we have to see how bad it will be.
“Pre-season is always tough. But Harry Maguire, as a precaution, we leave him out.
“And we had, of course, some injuries, but that is part of club football. We have to develop our team and make some good progression.”
