Everton sacked Sean Dyche at the beginning of the year and it’s certainly paid off.

David Moyes has taken Everton from a relegation battle to 17 points above 18th-placed Ipswich Town.

Moyes’ side are on a nine-game unbeaten run in the Premier League and have picked up the fifth most points in the division since his arrival.

So, it’s fair to say, that the Friedkin Group’s decision to sack Dyche has certainly been vindicated, however, it hasn’t always worked out like that.

Many of Everton’s sacked managers in recent years have gone on to do well elsewhere and now one of them could replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham Hotspur.

According to The Telegraph, former Everton manager Marco Silva is a ‘leading’ candidate to replace the under-fire Ange Postecoglou.

Everton sacked Silva in December 2019 after a run of poor form on Merseyside but since then, he’s proved his worth at Fulham.

The Portuguese head coach has taken the Cottagers from the Championship to become an established top-half Premier League side.

Fulham currently reside in eighth place but are only four points adrift of the top four, so Champions League qualification is a genuine possibility.

Such is why Silva is being seriously considered by Tottenham, who are languishing in 14th.

Doubts over Silva’s future at Craven Cottage

The report further adds that Silva’s future is uncertain at Craven Cottage as some sources suggest they could go their separate ways.

Silva is under contract at the West London club until 2026, so as it stands, they aren’t in a strong position to keep him.

Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola is also believed to be a top target to replace Postecoglou, who appears to have lost the faith of Spurs supporters.

Either way, no final decision has been made on Postecoglou’s future.
