Manor Solomon says he spoke to Archie Gray about a move to Leeds United after the club confirmed they had secured the Israeli attacker on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.
Solomon, 25, was confirmed as the club’s sixth summer signing on Tuesday evening. A deal that has been on the cards for some time, with Solomon understood to have undergone a medical over the weekend.
Finally, a deal was agreed with Tottenham that sees Solomon join Leeds on loan until the end of 2024-25. A move that further strengthens the relationship between Tottenham and Leeds in the last few years.
Gretar Steinsson’s move to Leeds from Tottenham has sparked the relationship, with Joe Rodon and Djed Spence joining on loan last summer. Then, Gray joined Spurs this summer, with Rodon signing for £10m.

Former Fulham and Shakhtar Donetsk star Solomon is seen as a bit of a coup for a player with vast know how and experience at the top level, having played in the Premier League and the Champions League.
He has also won the Ukranian Premier League and his versatility, skill and craft in attack will go a long way in Leeds’ push for promotion. He told LUTV that he spoke to both Gray and Dan James about a move.
“Yeah, I spoke with Archie a bit and he told me some great things about the club. I spoke with some other people, the assistant coach at Tottenham who also told me some great stuff about Leeds,” Solomon said.

“I also saw DJ and he also told me some good things about the club so yeah, all of the opinions I got about the club is that it is a great club and I am excited to get started,” Solomon said in his first interview.

The deal did take a lot longer than expected to complete, but it has seen Leeds finally get their man and go some way to replacing the loss of £40m man Georginio Rutter after his move to Brighton last week.
Leeds explained that their patience and decision to start adding to the squad later on in the window is now paying off, as players are becoming available that wouldn’t have been available earlier on.
