It looks like Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich are creating a relationship and a pathway of transfers given how many transactions both clubs have been involved in with each other in the recent past, and now it looks like another transfer between the clubs looms around the corner with the Lilywhites skipper Heung-min Son being a subject of interest for the Bundesliga giants.
There is a growing transfer relationship between Tottenham and Bayern Munich
So if we walk back to the summer 2023 transfer window, where Harry Kane moved away from the English shoes to Bayern Munich, and this was followed by Eric Dier moving to Allianz Arena in the following January in a loan deal that was transitioned into a permanent one after his contract at N17 expired. And the latest one, the recently concluded winter transfer window, saw the North Londoners bring in 19-year-old French sensation Mathys Tel in what was among the highlights of the January window as Daniel Levy looked to fill cracks in Ange Postecoglou’s roster following the injuries in the attacking setup.
Now this sets up a perfectly cohesive relationship between both clubs to breed another high-profile transfer. This is where the possibility of Son to Bayern comes in…
Heung-min Son set for a move to Bayern Munich?
The South Korean international has had a lot of scrutiny going around about his future given how he has struggled to replicate his previous performances that brought him plaudits, and with his age on the wrong side, there have been speculations that Daniel Levy might end up getting rid of the former Leverkusen ace after the conclusion of the ongoing season. And to aid a possible exit, Son is said to be keen to move to the Bundesliga giants, per Spanish outlet Fichajes.
Son boasts a tally of 172 goals alongside 94 assists in 444 appearances since moving to Spurs in 2015 and established himself as a modern icon for the Lilywhites, but it looks like his future is now on eggshells despite the recent much-celebrated contract extension by the club.
Saudi Pro League clubs also interested
Though Bayern aren’t the only club that are looking at the 32-year-old, with Middle Eastern teams also expressing strong interest to land Son. The Saudi Pro League duo of Al Ittihad and Al Hilal are said to be preparing to submit a bid of about £41.7 million for the South Korean when the summer comes around.
