Everton picked up a huge win in the Premier League on Sunday – and one Toffees star has been coming in for all kinds of praise.

David Moyes got his first win on the board of his second stint in charge, after narrowly losing to Aston Villa in midweek.

But it was always asking a lot to get a result against Villa, with Moyes having barely had any time with the players.

But against Spurs, Everton were fantastic against a Spurs side there for the taking. After the game, Jake O’Brien said Moyes wants Everton to start having more possession, with the team only finishing with 35%. But fans will not mind one bit how much of the ball the team has, so long as Moyes gets points on the board.

Everton were just really effective when they had it, racing into a 3-0 lead at half-time and it was just a top team performance. In the end, Everton did concede a couple of goals to Dejan Kulusevski and Richarlison, which will have disappointed Moyes.

But it was a fantastic result nonetheless, and another great day at the office for Iliman Ndiaye.

Everton players and Morgan Gibbs-White responds to Iliman Ndiaye’s Instagram post

After the game on Sunday, Ndiaye posted on Instagram to mark his latest goal for the club.

It was a well-worked goal by Everton, with Ndiaye playing a neat one-two with Idrissa Gueye in midfield before charging forward to the Spurs box.

Ndiaye left Archie Gray trailing in his wake, and then beat Radu Dragusin with a stepover before producing an emphatic finish.

Ndiaye said on Instagram: “We keep going like this team +3 points 💪🏽🔵”

A number of Everton players responded to the post:

There was also a show of acknowledgment from Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White, who played with Ndiaye at Sheffield United and therefore knows all about how talented he is.

Gibbs-White left a comment that many Evertonians will fully agree with: “So good 🤌🏽”

Ndiaye can drag Everton to safety

Quite possibly, Ndiaye could be one of the biggest beneficiaries of Dyche leaving Everton and Moyes coming in.

He was already one of the standout players in a team that was really struggling.

But on Sunday he was fantastic and it’s clear he’s a player who can provide those moments of magic.

Jamie Carragher compared Ndiaye to Steven Pienaar during Sunday’s game and certainly, there are similarities between the two in terms of technical ability, positions played and working hard.

It is so vital that he stays fit between now and the end of the season.

Because as well as the centre-backs and Jordan Pickford, both he and also Dominic Calvert-Lewin could play huge roles in helping Everton move away from the relegation zone.
