Juventus and Wolverhampton Wanderers showed keen interest in Kevin Danso before he moved to Tottenham Hotspur on February 2nd.

The Serie A side and Wolves made advances, but Spurs were successful in completing the centre-back’s signing in the end on loan with an obligation to buy.

Tutto Juve now provides a short update on why Juventus lost out to Tottenham in the race for the defender.

The Serie A side were in the market for a new centre-back and were looking for the right candidate to suit their sporting requirements and economic conditions.

Danso was one of the players on their list and claims from Italy stated Juventus wanted to sign him on a loan deal. Tuttosport even insisted he was a step away from the Turin club.

Tutto Juve backsthat up and explain the Old Lady ‘were very close’ to securing the 26-year-old’s services.

They eventually lost to the north London club because Spurs made a ‘much higher offer’ than Juventus.

Tottenham’s Radu Drăgușin suffered a serious knee injury in their Europa League win over IF Elfsborg on January 30th.

The Romanian will be out for a long spell and therefore, Tutto Juve state Tottenham were ‘forced to intervene heavily’ in signing Danso.
