Newcastle United are desperately hoping that one of their top targets rejects a move to Tottenham Hotspur in the final days of the window so that they can secure his services in the summer.
Tottenham plotting move for one of PL’s most exciting attackers
It has been widely reported over the last few days that Spurs are in talks over a late deal for Tyler Dibling, who has arguably been the find of the Premier League season so far, having scored four goals and provided two assists so far for a struggling Southampton side.
Some sources have suggested that Tottenham could sign the 18-year-old on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy, thus deferring the £50m asking price demanded by the Saints until the summer.
A new report has now revealed that Newcastle are concerned about Tottenham’s pursuit of the winger and have not given up hope of winning the race for the player.
Newcastle are desperate for Tyler Dibling to reject Spurs
This update comes from GiveMeSport, who say that the Magpies are desperately hoping that the Southampton man does not greenlight a late switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Newcastle are big fans of the teenager and are hoping to take him to St James’ Park at the end of the season, with Eddie Howe convinced that he could get the best out of the player.
However, there are fears in the North East that Tottenham are preparing to up the ante for Dibling over the coming days.

Newcastle do not have the funds to pay Southampton’s asking price for the winger during the current window and they are thus hoping that the England Under-21 international will take his time to choose his next destination.
Is a late switch to Spurs on the cards for Dibling?
GiveMeSport say that Newcastle are ‘optimistic’ that their ambition will be enough to convince the Saints academy graduate to snub Spurs over the coming days and hold off for a summer move to Howe’s side.
Dibling is also thought to be being monitored by the likes of Manchester United and RB Leipzig ahead of the summer.
The outlet points out that Southampton are in a strong negotiating position as the winger still has two and a half years left on his deal. Additionally, it is asserted that ‘there are doubts’ at the South Coast club over whether Dibling will ‘agitate’ for a move before the deadline.
