Tottenham Hotspur 2-3 Wolves | 1st March 2020

Raul Jimenez scored a brilliant and crucial winner on Wolves’ first trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium back in 2020.

Wolves had twice come from behind through Matt Doherty and Diogo Jota, and when the latter sent Jimenez in, he turned past Japhet Tanganga and fired home the winner.

It was Wolves’ second successive win at Spurs, having claimed three points at Wembley the previous season, and came as Nuno Espirito Santo’s were amidst one of their most thrilling ever.

“It’s an amazing feeling that we came here, to a very difficult pitch, and took the three points. I’m proud of all my teammates and all the team, that we did what we needed to win this game.” Raul Jimenez

“It's amazing the energy levels that we put into the game. They recover very well. It's a challenge, and when you really embrace the challenge you give everything you have, and this is what we are doing.” Nuno Espirito Santo

The lasting impression

The win saw Wolves leapfrog Spurs into sixth, three points off the Champions League spaces. Wolves were eventually pipped to sixth pop by Spurs on goal difference, therefore earning the North Londoners European football the following season.
