Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has made a successful return to Real Betis, rediscovering his form with an impressive five goals in five matches since rejoining the Spanish side.

Lo Celso, who completed his permanent move back to Betis in August for a reduced fee of €4 million, wasted no time in making an impact in La Liga.

The Argentine kicked off his second spell at the club in style, scoring twice in a 2-1 victory over Getafe, with one goal coming from the penalty spot and the other through a deflected strike.

He has since added three more goals, bringing his tally to a remarkable five in five appearances. (Transfermarkt)

This resurgence marks a significant turnaround for the midfielder, who endured a difficult final season at Tottenham.

Despite featuring in 24 games across all competitions, Lo Celso struggled for consistent minutes, playing just 600 minutes and contributing two goals and two assists.

His limited role ultimately led to his transfer back to Betis, where his career now seems to have been rejuvenated.

Lo Celso’s return to Betis has reignited his confidence and attacking flair. This is not his first successful spell with the club, having enjoyed a fruitful loan stint during the 2018-19 season, where he scored 16 goals and provided six assists in 45 appearances.
