Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilón could replace Brighton and Hove Albion’s Valentín Barco at Sevilla in the January transfer window.
That’s according to Vamos Mi Sevilla, who say a swap between the two players could be on the cards.
Barco has been on loan at Sevilla since the summer transfer window but earlier this month, we covered claims from Spain that he could be replaced by Tottenham Hotspur’s Sergio Reguilón in January.
The Argentine has played seven games, and it includes one substitute appearance since the end of September.
Vamos Mi Sevilla FC backs up the possibility of the La Liga side replacing the Brighton man with the Tottenham player in the winter market. Their headline says Reguilón’s arrival at the club is ‘heating up’.
The Andalusian club aren’t sure about the 20-year-old Argentine’s best position on the pitch and he’s considered one of sporting director Víctor Orta failures this year. Brigthon, Sevilla and Barco’s representatives are all working to cut short his loan stay in the next window.
Sevilla are then aiming to replace the Brighton manwith Reguilón. He hasn’t made an appearance for Tottenham this season and Ange Postecoglou included the 27-year-old in his squad only once this season.
Reguilón was on loan at Sevilla for one season before arriving at Tottenham from Real Madrid in 2020. The report says the Spanish club have already agreed a deal with him to return.
According to them an agreement has to be found with Tottenham for the transfer to take shape in January. Reguilón’s deal lasts until 2025, and the outlet states he could join Sevilla on loan or on a free transfer, the latter by terminating his contract at Spurs first.
