Spurs are back in Europa League action against Eintracht Frankfurt, just days after their 3-1 against Southampton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Let’s take a look at our predicted Tottenham XI to face Frankfurt on Thursday.

Tottenham Hotspur return to action on Thursday night, this time in the Europa League, where they’ll take on German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt.

With the first leg of the quarter-final tie taking place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, there’s very little margin for error—Spurs simply can’t afford to head to Germany without a decent advantage to build on.

Confidence should be high within the camp, particularly given Frankfurt’s recent form, which has left a lot to be desired.

The Bundesliga side look there for the taking, and with a semi-final spot on the line, Spurs will need to be ruthless. Let’s take a look at our predicted Tottenham XI to take on Frankfurt on Thursday.

Predicted Tottenham Hotspur starting XI vs Eintracht Frankfurt in Europa League quarter-final

Goalkeeper – Guglielmo Vicario: Tottenham won’t be taking any risks in goal on Thursday, and there’s no doubt their first-choice keeper will be between the sticks.

Right-back – Pedro Porro: Porro remains Tottenham’s standout option at right-back, especially with Djed Spence looking well off the pace whenever he’s featured there. He put in a strong shift against Southampton and should keep his place.

MORE SPURS STORIES

Centre-back – Micky van de Ven: It was hardly a surprise to see van de Ven on the bench against Southampton, given his recent injury history. The rest came at the right time, especially after that scare against Chelsea, and most would expect him straight back into the XI on Thursday.

Centre-back – Cristian Romero: Romero was one of the standout performers on Sunday and came close to scoring. A clean sheet on Thursday will be crucial, and if Spurs are to manage that, Romero will need to be at the heart of it.

Left-back – Djed Spence: Spence has arguably been Spurs’ best full-back this season. While Destiny Udogie was rested against Southampton, we’re not expecting him to return to the XI just yet. Spence grabbed an assist at the weekend and has surely earned another start.

Pivot midfielder – Lucas Bergvall: Bergvall has already established himself as a guaranteed starter. He was taken off early against Southampton, which all but confirms his place for Thursday night.

Central midfielder – Rodrigo Bentancur: Bentancur looks like he’s slowly edging back to form. His display at Chelsea was solid and he backed it up against Southampton. If he can push his level just a touch higher, he’ll be key on Thursday—he should start.

Central midfielder – James Maddison: Spurs will need their experienced heads to step up, and Maddison fits that bill. His assist on Sunday should give him a boost, and he’ll be expected to deliver in what is arguably the biggest game of the season so far.

Left midfielder – Heung-min Son: No questions here—Son starts. Spurs need a bit of magic on nights like these, and even with his patchy form, he’s capable of producing the moments that matter.

Striker – Dominic Solanke: It just didn’t happen for Solanke on Sunday, and his goal drought now stretches to nine games. Tottenham need to get better at supplying him—if they do, he could break that duck on Thursday.
