Tottenham are at the heart of transfer speculation as PSG reportedly consider a €50m bid for their defender Radu Dragusin.
While Spurs focus on bolstering their squad in the January transfer window, they are also facing interest in some key players, with Dragusin drawing attention from the French champions.
PSG evaluating €50m bid for Radu Dragusin
According to Fichajes, PSG see the 22-year-old Romanian as a prime candidate to reinforce their backline. Known for his combination of youth and quality, Dragusin fits PSG’s vision of building a defensively solid and future-ready squad.
Dragusin arrived at Tottenham in January 2024 from Genoa for a record-breaking €25 million, making him the most expensive Romanian footballer in history. Since then, he has gradually established himself within Ange Postecoglou’s system, especially during this season, where injuries to first-choice defenders have provided him with ample opportunities.
The centre-back made his Premier League debut soon after joining but has not had the best of starts, having found game time limited due to the presence of Cristian Romero and Micky va de Ven. However, this season, injuries to the centre-back duo has allowed the Romanian significant playing time and he has grown in confidence despite some early setbacks, including a red card in his Europa League debut.
Dragusin has made 24 appearances across all competitions, with 22 starts. His performances have underlined his reliability and potential, catching the attention of top clubs like PSG.
Tottenham are reportedly keen to retaining Dragusin, recognising his value to the squad, but a substantial €50 million offer could make this decision challenging. Moreover, the prospect of joining PSG, where he would compete for major titles including the Champions League alongside world-class players, might tempt the young defender to make the move. The report adds that ‘the next few weeks could define his future in European football.’
For now, Dragusin remains committed to helping Spurs navigate a critical phase of their campaign.
However, as the transfer window progresses, Tottenham must carefully assess the long-term implications of parting ways with one of their emerging talents against the immediate financial benefits of the proposed deal.
