Tottenham top talents have reportedly caught the attention of Real Madrid, with the reigning European champions showing interest in not one but two key Spurs players for a potential transfer.
According to a report from The Mirror, Real Madrid have set their sights on both Cristian Romero and Pedro Porro, two vital members of Ange Postecoglou’s squad.
Cristian Romero has been on Madrid’s radar for some time, with the Argentine defender impressing with his consistent performances in the Premier League.
A cornerstone of Tottenham’s defensive setup, Romero’s reliability and commanding presence have earned him attention from major European clubs.
However, the Lilywhites remain firm in their commitment to keeping him as part of their long-term project. Romero, who is under contract until 2027, continues to be a crucial part of Spurs’ defensive strategy.
Real Madrid now eyeing Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro as well
In addition to Romero, Los Blancos is also interested in Tottenham’s dynamic right-back, Pedro Porro. Since joining from Sporting CP in January 2023, Porro has emerged as one of Spurs’ standout performers, playing a pivotal role on both ends of the pitch.
The Spanish full-back was a regular in Postecoglou’s starting XI last season, contributing three goals and seven assists in 35 appearances. His consistent performances have helped establish him as one of the Premier League’s top full-backs.
With Real Madrid vice-captain Dani Carvajal sidelined for an extended period due to a knee injury, the Spanish giants are in the market for a right-back, and Porro’s previous experience in La Liga with Girona and Real Valladolid makes him a strong candidate for the role.
Madrid’s interest in the versatile full-back could be tempting, especially for Porro, who might view a return to Spain as an opportunity to boost his chances with the national team.
He recently opened up about the Madrid links, expressing his pride over it, and refused to rule out a future move.
Other reports have linked another Tottenham star with Madrid, with suggestions that the European giants have identified Micky van de Ven as the ideal replacement to Sergio Ramos.
Despite these reports, any move for Romero or Micky van de Ven won’t come cheap for Madrid. They will need to cough up a substantial amount to tempt Levy to consider the sales of his most prized assets.
Real Madrid are also linked with a move for Trent Alexander-Arnold, and the Liverpool’s star current contract situation could make him a much move favourable option than Pedro Porro.
