Tottenham could face competition from rivals Arsenal in the race for the services of Federico Chiesa.
Chiesa joined Juventus towards the end of 2020 after making a name for himself at Fiorentina. He had an incredible start to life in Turin but could not maintain the high levels for long as he struggled to cope with injuries. While he is back fit, the Italian winger has struggled for form and hasn’t been able to return to his best.
With his contract running out in 12 months, there is a significant amount of interest in him from the Premier League. According to a report from Calciomercato, Tottenham have already approached Juventus for his services while Arsenal have also joined the race. The Gunners want more competition on the left flank and feel Chiesa could be an ideal fit for them.
While Mikel Arteta’s team recently enquired about him, Tottenham have a long-standing interest in him. Ange Postecoglou’s team have already approached the Old Lady to learn more about a potential deal. They want to add more quality on the flanks and Chiesa could be an exceptional signing for them. His arrival will allow the Australian manager to use Son Heung-min up top when needed.
Juventus do not want to lose out on him for free next year and are looking for a fee of around €25 million. While there is significant interest in him from Spurs, their approach hasn’t turned into an offer yet.
The player is in no rush to make a decision about his future and he is willing to wait for the perfect opportunity as he wants to join a club that competes in the Champions League.
It will be interesting to see where he ends up eventually.
