Tottenham full-back Sergio Reguilon could make a return to Sevilla ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Sergio Reguilon has gone way down the pecking order at Tottenham over the last few seasons. He has spent the last two campaigns out on loan and doesn’t seem to be a part of their plans moving ahead. The Spanish defender is expected to be on the move this summer and according to a report from El Mira, Sevilla is the most ‘likely destination’ for the Real Madrid graduate.

Reguilon came up the ranks at Los Blancos and after a season with their first team, he ended up joining Sevilla on a season-long loan. During the 2019/20 season, he featured in 38 matches for them and contributed towards eight goals (3 goals, 5 assists) helping them win the Europa League. Given the kind of success he has had at the Spanish club, a return surely can’t be ruled out.

On the back of his impressive loan spell at Sevilla, Tottenham forked out €30 million to sign him. While he was an integral part of their first team in the initial years, he has spent the last 24 months out on loan at Atletico Madrid, Manchester United and Brentford. Reguilon is not a part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans moving ahead and a return to Sevilla seems a real possibility.

The Spanish club are in desperate need of a new left-back with all three of their full-backs having one foot out of the club. García Pimienta has no options but to look at the market for alternatives and they seem to have a great opportunity in Reguilon with his future at Tottenham quite uncertain.

The report suggests that the former Real Madrid full-back could choose to leave on loan yet again and Sevilla seem to be the likely destination. But, with his contract running out in 12 months, Spurs could push for a permanent move.
