Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has shared his Premier League top-four predictions, controversially leaving Tottenham Hotspur out of the mix.
Ferdinand expects Manchester United to finish fourth behind Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool, despite the Red Devils’ inconsistent start to the season.
Tottenham, under Ange Postecoglou, have had a mixed start with a win, loss, and draw in their opening three matches.
However, many Spurs fans remain hopeful their team can exceed expectations, especially with summer additions like Dominic Solanke, Wilson Odobert, Archie Gray, and Lucas Bergvall strengthening the squad.
While Ferdinand’s assessment seems to downplay Tottenham’s progress, it fails to fully account for the depth and quality the club has added.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, the pundit commented:
“With that being said, where would you put us at the end of the season? What are you going for? I went for a top four of Arsenal, City, Liverpool and then us, United, in that order.”
With Postecoglou working to integrate his recruits and build cohesion, Tottenham’s ambitions for a top-four finish remain within reach.
Though Arsenal, Man City, and Liverpool appear secure in their top-four status, questions remain about United’s form, as they have already lost two league games and sit 14th in the table. Spurs, on the other hand, could well prove Ferdinand’s prediction wrong.
