Tottenham Hotspur are back in action on Wednesday night with a home clash against Manchester City. They head into their upcoming fixture on the back of their 4-1 away win at Ipswich Town last time out.

Winger Brennan Johnson scored twice against the Tractor Boys. Meanwhile, Djed Spence and Dejan Kulusevski also got themselves on the score sheet at Portman Road.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have now won their last two Premier League games on the spin. They have risen up to 12th position in the table.

Tottenham Hotspur defensive issues

Radu Dragusin - out. The defender is out of action with a long-term knee injury. Postecoglou has said: “Radu underwent surgery today following his ACL injury. That procedure has now been completed, and the centre-back will now commence with his recovery before beginning the rehab process.” Expected return date: 06/12/2025.

Micky van de Ven - out. It has been a frustrating season for the centre-back and Spurs are being patient with him. His boss has said: “We've got a week before the first Europa game. We've got the weekend off. And again, that's about the time we're hoping that guys like (Cristian) Romero and Micky, in particular. They should be in and around that sort of mark.” Expected return date: 06/03/2025.

Cristian Romero - out. He has been sidelined with a thigh injury and it will be a boost when he is fit again. His head coach shared this update last week: “He's had [a follow-up scan]t and it's going well. He's in a good place. So, like I said, with him and Micky, it's just picking our moment now. We've got a really good period coming up where I think we can manage that where they're back. They've had good weeks of training with us.” Expected return date: 06/03/2025.

Tottenham Hotspur attacking woes

Dominic Solanke - out. The striker isn’t too far off at the moment as he recovers from a knee issues. Spurs have a decision to make about when to throw the former Liverpool and AFC Bournemouth man back in. Expected return date: 09/03/2025.

Richarlison - out. He remains in the treatment room for the London club and they will want to get him back on the pitch as quickly and as safely as they can. Postecoglou said earlier this month: “Richy, similar to Madders and Brennan... depending on how he recovers. Madders bounced back really quickly; it’s only been two and a bit weeks. Brennan has been three weeks - we’re looking at the same time frame for Richy.” Expected return date: 09/03/2025.

Timo Werner - doubt. Spurs will make checks on the forward as they prepare to face Ipswich. Postecoglou has said: “Timo is also training with us and is getting pretty close to being available.” Expected return date: 26/02/2025.

Spurs have been boosted by a few players coming back recently and if they can get the likes of Van de Ven, Romero, Richarlison, Solanke and Werner, there is no reason why they can’t have a strong end to this term.
